On Saturday, under the presidency of Eric McClintock, we welcomed Verona Murphy – Ceann Comhairle, and the first woman and first person from Wexford ever to hold that office – as an Honorary Member of our club.
Verona’s life is one of consistent service – to her industry, her community, and her county. From the factory floor to the chair of Dáil Éireann – hers is a remarkable journey that embodies the very spirit of Service Above Self.
We were joined by Rotarians from clubs across Ireland, by District Governor Michael Fleming and District Governor Elect George, and by family and friends who travelled to mark the occasion.
It was also a special thank you to Wexford Member, Assistant District Governor Calodagh McCumiskey, who completed three years of service to Zone 4 and District 1160.
A touching day our club will not forget.
