Greenacres Wine Tasting Event hosted by James O’Conner

On 14th May Wexford Rotary and friends enjoyed a special wine tasting evening at Greenacres. The venue was the first floor above Greenacres restaurant. Hosted by James O’Conner and his team, the evening was a lot of fun. But wait, before I continue the story!

How many of you reading this have been to Greenacres and knew of the excellent art gallery on the first floor. I have been in Wexford for 4 years and did not know about it. This is where wine tastings are held and one can peruse the wonderful local art including paintings and pieces of art in all forms. Definitely worth a visit.

To continue…… Approximately 25 of us were greeted by James and his team and after walking around and viewing the artwork we were seated at beautifully arranged tables. James then began the evening introducing his team and the wines we would be tasting from France, Germany and South Africa, 3 white wines and 3 red. A plate of charcuterie was placed at each table which was most enjoyed by all. We listened closely to James as the evening progressed because there was a quiz at the close of the evening with prizes. The answers were hidden in James’s talk as the evening progressed.

A lot of laughs was enjoyed by all plus learning about the wines , the different varieties and wine farms around the world.

This was a wonderful evening and from Rotary Wexford we thank Greenacres for their hospitality.
