Just 1 Life at the National Opera House, Wexford

On February 24th, the Rotary Club of Wexford in partnership with Wexford County Council hosted the third Just 1 Life of the 2025/2026 school year. Approximately 300 students from various schools throughout the county attended and were made aware and educated as to the causes of collisions, deaths and injuries on our road.

Students heard speakers from An Garda Síochána, Wexford Mental Health, the National Ambulance Service, Wexford Fire Service and a doctor from the A&E Department of Wexford General Hospital. Speakers shared their own personal stories from dealing with death and injuries on our roads, and shared videos and images. It was clearly communicated to students that practically all deaths and injuries on our roads are avoidable, as these deaths and injuries are caused by poor decision making on the part of road users, be it by speeding, drink and drug use, mobile phone use or other human actions.

Just 1 Life is a road safety initiative of The Rotary Club of Wexford, in partnership with Wexford County Council. Launched in 2006 well over 20,000 students have attended Just 1 Life events over the years. The Rotary Club of Wexford would like to thank Wexford County Council for their continued partnership and would like to thank all the presenters at this event. Two more Just 1 Life events will take place during this school year with over 2,000 students attending.
