Rotary Christmas Hampers

Rotary Christmas Hampers

One of the most important projects of our club is our Christmas hamper project.

Every year Rotary delivers food hampers to approximately 120 families in need.  The families are identified by St Vincent de Paul.  Rotary puts together generous hampers of food including chicken, ham, sausages, apples, cheese, essentials like tea, coffee, bean, soups, cereals, jam, bread and some goodies like soft drinks and chocolate.    Many of the items are donated by very generous sponsors.

The packing of the hampers is always a fun occasion.  It is carried out in precision order overseen for many years by Bernard Doyle and project coordinator Liam Riordan.    Families of Rotary get involved as the packing is easier done by young people.  It is a fun way for children and friends of our club to learn social responsibility.   Club members personally deliver the hampers to the families just before Christmas.
